Get your Christmas Tree Recycled for Free

West Dorset District Council will be collecting trees for recycling into compost on your normal recycling collection day from 5th January – 1st February 2012

Trees must be:

Under six foot or cut into pieces
Out by 7.30am on collection day
Real, no artificial trees
Free of all decorations

To take advantage of this service please book online from Monday 5th December 2011 at www.dorsetforyou.com/christmastrees/west or ring 01305 251010 from 3rd January 2012 ,giving a minimum of 48 hours before your recycling day

The Town Council Offices will be CLOSED from 12 noon on Friday 23rd December 2011 and will re-open on Tuesday 3rd January 2012.

Beaminster Christmas Lights Festival 2011

The Christmas Lights Festival in Beaminster will be held on the evening of Friday 2nd December starting at 5pm

Santas Family Procession will leave the Fire Station at 5.45pm and move through Hogshill Street to reach the Square at 6pm. It is hoped as many children as possible will participate in the procession.

Santa will then go to his Grotto and will be ready to meet and greet the children at 6.15pm

A variety of stalls, food and drinks will be available in the Square and Lynden Way (Food Court) from 5pm. Beaminster School Christmas Fair will be held in the Public Hall from 5pm

Carols in the Square with The Phoenix Brass Band will play in the Square from 6.15pm

The tree lights will be switched on at 7pm
